§ 2 · Party
The Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi
Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar founded the Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK) as a regional party in Tamil Nadu. Scroll.in and other profiles date its founding to 2010, while Wikipedia gives 2011.[4][5] The party’s registered headquarters is in Ashok Nagar, Chennai.[5]
Tamil Nadu politics has long been organised around alliances led by the larger Dravidian parties and national parties. Smaller parties such as the IJK usually contest as alliance partners. The alliance record below is as published; it is a record of the party’s positions, not a comment on them.[5]
Published records list no seats won by the IJK under its own name in the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha or the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. Dr. Paarivendhar’s election in 2019 was on the ticket of the DMK-led alliance.[5][6]

Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency
Perambalur is a Lok Sabha constituency in central Tamil Nadu. Dr. Paarivendhar contested it in three consecutive general elections. The figures are those compiled from Election Commission of India results in the cited record.[6]

§ 4 · Parliament
The 17th Lok Sabha, 2019–2024
The 17th Lok Sabha was constituted after the 2019 general election. Its term ended when the results of the 2024 general election were declared. Dr. Paarivendhar’s membership ran from 23 May 2019 to 4 June 2024.[6]
A Member of the Lok Sabha represents a single constituency. The role includes taking part in debates and legislation, putting questions to the government, serving on parliamentary committees where nominated, and recommending local development works in the constituency under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

§ 6 · Engagement
Courtesy calls and public engagements
A public role in both education and politics involves regular meetings with office-holders, fellow legislators, educators and community groups. Such meetings are a normal part of the work of a university chancellor and, from 2019 to 2024, of a Member of Parliament.

His media interests are also relevant to public life. Published reporting records that the Tamil news channel Puthiya Thalaimurai was launched in 2011 as part of the group.[4]
